Bailey Kentling
Bailey Kentling is an illustrator who celebrates the creatures found in the margins of a middle schooler's math notebook. Oftentimes combining digital and traditional techniques, her work centers on creating playfully fantastical images that draw viewers in with childlike whimsy.
Originally from Wichita KS, Bailey had briefly entertained getting a degree in education at Kansas State before deciding to return to her true passions and pursue Illustration. In spite of the career change, her time studying elementary education has given her a lifelong appreciation for the humble crayon and an undying respect for children’s illustration - she frequently uses both as inspiration for her artistic practice.
Bailey will be graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2024 with a BFA in Illustration and an Asian Studies minor, after which she hopes to find a career in packaging or apparel design.
She currently lives and works in Kansas City with her fiancé and their semi-functional cat.
